Sussex Sharks
From top to bottom a very strong team who are the reigning 2009 Twenty20 Cup champions. They boast a strong squad containing great experience and quality up and coming youth. Amongst their ranks are England wicket Test Match, wicket keeper, Matt Prior and England T20 opener, Luke Wright. The team are captained by former England ODI player, Michael Yardy. Despite winning the 2009 T20 Cup they are still down at number 17 in the Twenty20 Cup Rankings
Twenty20 Cup Performances
As stated above, the Sharks are the reigning Twenty20 Cup Champions, having beaten Somerset in the final played at Edgbaston. Earlier on Finals day that had knocked out Northants in the semi final.
2009 in fac was only the second time the Sharks had quailified for Finals Day, having been semi finalists in 2007. They played in the Southern Group of the Cup and qualified for the quarter finals after finishing second to Kent. They won seven from their ten games played.
