Kolkata Knight Riders
The Knight Riders are owned by the Red Chillies Entertainment Company and were originally captained by Indian cricket legend, Sourav Ganguly. However, Ganguly was replaced for the 2009 season by Kiwi, Brendan McCullum which certainly caused friction between Ganguly and the then coach, John Buchanan. They are currently ranked eight and bottom of the IPL Rankings
IPL Performances
The team only managed sixth place in the 2008 IPL and failed to qualify for the knock out stages. In the 2009 IPL they faired much worse, finishing bottom with only three wins from fourteen matches.
These poor performances and the probably friction in the team have already cost Aussie coach, Bucahanan his job and as yet they have not named a replacement. It is also unsure whether or not Ganguly will feature in the 2010 season.
