England

Despite having home advantage England failed to capitalise in the 2009 Twenty20 World Cup being knocked out at the Super 8 stage. They had earlier in the Opening group stage suffered an ignominious defeat at the hands of Holland, but redeemed themselves by defeating eventual champions, Pakistan in their next match. England are currently at 7 in the current T20 World Rankings
