Delhi Daredevils
The Dehli Daredevils are owned by the CMR Group who purchased the team for $84m. In captain Virender Sehweg they have one of the most iconic players in the IPL.
Performances
In the 2008 IPL season the Daredevils qualified for the semi-finals after a fourth place finish in the league. However, they were soundly thrashed by the eventual winners, Rajasthan Royals.
In the 2009 season the Daredevils were the best team in the league standings, winning an impressive ten of their fourteen matches. Luck unfortunately deserted them in the knock-out stages where they were put out by eventual winners Deccan Chargers in the semi-final. The team had a dissapointing third season, finishing outside the top four.
Squad
Captain Virender Sehwag was the only player to be retained by the Daredevils in the 2011 IPL Player Auction. They splashed out $1.9m on the experienced bowler Irfan Pathan and added Morne Morkel, David Warner, Umesh Yadav and Andrew McDonald to the team.
